The 30 Day Challenge

Today I am starting a, slightly tweaked, Whole30 challenge. I have been doing OK on Primal but that 20% leeway that I love also keeps biting me in the rear. I do great for a few days, a week, and then have a day where I'm over-stressed or just tired and give in to a meal that isn't quite healthy, which often leads to a sugar binge.

I hear lot of great things from others who have done the Whole30 challenge and I'm hoping I can be as successful. I AM going to do a little tweaking: allowing butter and some heavy cream but in moderation. The only reason I'm doing this is because I can't see myself cooking a separate dish just for myself because I used a little butter or cream in the original dish. I know its an excuse but I honestly don't have enough pots and pans, or patience, to do it. So, rather than shooting myself in the foot at the starting gate, I'm going to allow the small amounts of dairy.

30 days. No grains. No legumes. No sugar (even fake, replacement kinds). No alcohol. No processed foods. Very, very limited dairy. Its going to be tough but I am up to the challenge.

On another note the exercise program has been going great. I'm starting to actually like walking/jogging (who knew THAT could happen??). Need to get more weight-lifting in though, not sure if I will meet the pull-up/push-up goal if I don't get on the ball. I'm starting to notice a slight definition in my calves and arms, its very slight but its there!!

  1. I did the Whole30 challenge and I did really well on it. But when my 30 days was up I let myself have a cheat day which turned into a cheat month. I am struggling to get back on track. I felt amazing eating that way and I feel horrible eating this way, so mentally I know I am better off doing Whole30/Primal/Paleo but the cravings are like a mountain to climb.

Good luck to you!! I will check back for updates on your progress!
